Our rugby season has finally kicked off and last week we had our first Senior games! It was a bit of a rough start for our 3rd division men who are combined with St. Albert this year. The St. Druids lost 68-22 to LA Crude RFC. Our flanker Reeves was the man of the match for that one with some huge hits and hard work at the breakdowns. Our First division Women got their first win of the season against the Calgary Rams 31-21 the man of the match was our young gun Dani Cox (daughter of the famous Brian Cox) who scored two tries and made some massive hits. Our 2nd Division men lost a hard fought battle against the Sharks falling 32-19 the future is bright for the Druids as both of our men of the match are also U21 players. Jake Butler was named man of the match for the forwards for his massive tackles and work around the breakdown. Elliot Johnson named man of the match in the backs came in at 10 in the second half and was a huge impact player setting up tries and scoring one himself. Our Junior Druids continue to impress from the age groups of U5 to U15 at the Junior Festivals. Our U15 girls in particular have won multiple games lead by the one and only Joe Johnston.
