The pitch may still be snow covered, yet the 2018 season has already begun for a few Druids already off the pitch. As the AGM has come and gone we have many new faces in new positions on the executive.
Stacey Gallagher, Administrator. When it comes to Druids Rugby the name Gallagher tends to be a prominent fixture. Stacey has been working for years behind the scenes and I am personally thankful for this woman to be on the executive as her experience and knowledge with the club is invaluable.
Miranda Monty, Treasurer. Miranda has joined the executive in the role as Treasurer. Importance is an understatement when referring to this position. I am grateful as part of the club to have someone of Miranda’s experience and knowledge to take on this role.
Sarah Johnston, VP Rugby. Sarah’s efforts in her position and the work she does beyond it, last season and has already begun this season, is certainly to be appreciated. The great respect she has from her peers and teammates matches the work ethic she shows on the executive and I am happy to have her with us in her second year in this position.
Liam Mills, VP Rugby. Millsy has been a face in the Druids community for many years. Unorthodox and passionate Liam is a great asset on the executive with years of experience in his role.
Brittany Rushfeldt, Secretary. It would be quite difficult to find a Druid over the last several years who does not know Brittany. Passionate and thorough, we welcome Britt back to the executive.
Wendy Oleskiw and Alex Burd, Social Directors. For me already I am already seeing the benefits of having these two individuals step up and take on this role. Their personalities alone should have us all excited for the fun to come!
Anna Holowaychuk, Social Media Director. This is a new position altogether as it was made clear into the work and the importance to remain up to date on social media. Anna is a great fit for this position as not just the lineage to the family name but her own unique qualities and passion will certainly keep us informed on all things Druid.
Larry Wall and Jack Thompson, Fields and Facilities Committee. How does one say more about these men as what they have already done for the club. With this new Committee spearheaded by these two men the club’s fields and facilities shall not only meet the potential they hold, yet exceed it.
As you make it to this final statement you can see as President, with these amazing people in their positions, my life in this role could not be made easier. I am grateful not to just work with these fine folks on the year to come, but to just have the chance to witness the character of the people in our great community as they give back freely to the club we all love.
